My trip to Panajachel

Hello you all...
well, This weekend I went to Panajachel. Its a city on the shore of a Lago de Atitlan, a lake located in the crater of a very old volcano (+300.000 years). Around it there are 3 more volcanoes, all of them inactive and several small villages.
The main attraction is the lake. Its water is very transparent, there arent many fishes though. The villages are very distinct too. Many tourists love to visit all of them. I was satisfied with one. It is on the mountains, so you have to walk through a very difficult road. There they speak a dialect, the Sutuil. I tried to communicate in spanish, but they didnt understand me. Only a few words.
On the trip I managed to find a very distinct group. Kasimir, the 2-year-old german guy that studied spanish with me almost 2 months ago, Martin, another german guy (almost in his 30s), Sybille, a swiss girl in her middle 20s, Annete, a 30-year old italian chick and Capitain Jack, a 60-year old american sea-wolf (well, actually lake-wolf, because he sails more on sweet water, hehehe).
We visited many of the villages, swam in the lake (oh, that was great!), went to a reggae night on a local bar (nice band), ate local food (also good), and spent a lot of money too (urgh, that is bad...).
My weekend was very good. I wish I could do it more often, but unfortnatly I have no money to do it all the time and I also have to find some people to go with me, which is not easy. Maybe in 2 weeks I'll travel with Kasimir again.
I took some pictures and will try to post some of them here.

see you all!!

Almost 2 months...

Hello you all that come to see what I write here...

thanks for the patience, sign up for a free gift when I return to Brasil... hehehe

well, I'm close to complete 2 months here...

lets see:
- I dont feel like returning to Brasil (yes, I have considered that)
- people here are very friendly. They tend to help you whenever they can, but that really doesnt mean always
- My work: well, I have lots of things to do. Sometimes I get really bored, but sometimes I get enthusiastic, specially when I manage to do things they ask me, hehehe
- Friends: thats a problem. There is Marcio, who is Brazilian, and he always invite me to do things, he's a very nice guy. He's from Curitiba. There are people in AIESEC that tend to approach a little more. I like them. Ahmid and Maria. Elisa too, but she's got this problem that she lives very far from me and she doesnt have a car. There is also Kasimir, a german guy I got to know in Antigua when I was studying spanish. He is nice, and we sometimes plan to travel together...
- The city: is very large, since it doesnt have many buildings and more than 3 million habitants. But its not a capital that you can say: "I can get anything here". many things people buy from Panama or Miami, where is cheaper and there are more stuff. Public transportation is a bit dangerous, thats a shame. To go on buses, I dont take much money, turn off my cell phone and dont carry backpacks.
- Travelling: well, Guate is a very touristic place. There are vulcanos, Mayan Ruins all over the place, small villages that are nice, pacific ocean beaches, caribbean beaches, a great lake. That is a good thing, travelling.
- During the week: I arranged to get into a football team, we play once a week. There are cinemas near my house, but so far there are no movies I really like to see, so I watch movies in tv, in my house.

well, in resume, I'm starting to live in a different way. In Londrina I have lots to do, and here not that much. I could do much more, but I'd spend much more money, and wouldnt be able to travel as much as I want to.

Kisses and Hughs,

Daniel

My work in Novartis

Hi you all...

Its been some time since my last post...

Well, that is due to 2 things: I didn't have much to talk about, neither new photos, and I was waiting my trip to complete 1 month to post this.

The company here is very big. Maybe 100 employees or more. I have my office, my own desk and computer, and there are 2 other girls that work here in the same office (I have no idea what they do, but they sure talk on messenger all day, and sometimes listen to music)

Everybody on the company seems nice. My badge is hanging out from a Brazilian strip, so that identifies me as a Brazilian.

I have lunch here everyday, the food is nice, and I eat fruit everyday (that is because I had some stomach disorder and dont wanna it again...)

Well, about the job: I mostly work with SQL and Excel, building or repairing sheets. Its quite difficult, due to problems with databases and so on. I'm learning a lot, and getting stressed sometimes when things dont work out (well, guess this happends to all hehe)

Right now I'm waiting the SQL server to run a query to the database. Its impressive what you have to do to get the data you need. My database teacher would kill me if he saw what I did, hehehe...

well, that's it for today...

still miss Brasil
